Short answer: the Model 3 has had two frunk (front trunk tub) generations. Cars built from 2017 to about mid-2020 have the larger one; Tesla made it smaller on cars built after that, and owners linked the change to the heat pump. The two are different parts. Our frunk is Tesla OE 1509565-00-A, the earlier, larger one.
Catalogues don't agree on which other frunk numbers belong to which build, so check the number on your own frunk before ordering. If it isn't 1509565-00-A, send it to us with your VIN and we'll confirm.
Why there are two frunks
Electrek reported in August 2020 that new Model 3s, including cars built in July 2020, had a slightly smaller frunk, with larger trims at the top and sides. Owners linked the change to a heat pump coming to the Model 3. Cars built before the change have the larger frunk.
Tesla has used more than one part number for the frunk over the years, and the catalogues we checked list them differently. The number printed on your own frunk is the reliable check.
